- Click on the Start button on Windows 95's tool bar. Select Programs, then Accessories, then Internet Tools, and then select either Get on the Internet or Internet Setup Wizard.
- The first window that will come up is the Get Connected window. Click on Next.
- Now the Setup Options window will appear. Choose Manual, then click on Next. *or select "I already have another I.S.P (Internet Service Provider)"
- Click on Next to get passed the Welcome Screen.
- The next window to come up is the How to Connect window. Choose Connect using my phone line, and then hit Next.
- Now it may ask if you want to use Windows Messaging. Choose No, and click Next. Service provider hurontel.on.ca (domain name).
- This next window prompts you for your username and password. Fill in those fields with the username and password you chose and click on Next.
- In the IP Address window, select My Internet provider automatically assigns me one, and click on Next.
- The next window is the DNS Server Address window. Fill in the information that follows...
DNS Server: 216.46.129.10
Alternate DNS Server: 216.46.142.10
- Depending on whether you have Microsoft's Internet Mail on your system, you may get the Use Internet Mail window. If you do get this window, enter your E-mail address, which is username@hurontel.on.ca (replace username with the one you chose). For Internet Server, type in
Incoming Mail Server (POP3): mail.hurontel.on.ca
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): smtp.hurontel.on.ca
- If and when the Windows Messaging Profile window comes up, just leave the settings as they are and click on Next.
- You are now set up to go on the Internet...Double-click on the globe on your Windows 95 desktop labeled "The Internet"
