Your first step in creating your web site should be some sort of planning or layout of each of your pages and how your entire web site will flow together. Many people, including professionals, find that working this out on paper is the best approach. Be sure your site has a consistent look and method of operation before you start to develop it. Your next step is to obtain a web page editor. You can use notepad or wordpad to write HTML code. Programs such as Microsoft Frontpage and Dreamweaver MX are the premier web editors out there today. Graphics are important to have on your web site, so you will need a graphics design program, such as Photoshop, Fireworks MX, etc.. unless you are strictly using stock clipart from programs such as Corel Draw. Finally, have a look at some other sites. Many people learn by example, so look around the web for ideas on good web sites. Remember not to "steal". Copyright violation is very serious and has landed many people a trip to court.
